Your presentations will have three parts:
1) A blog assignment worth 5 pts where you will list the main points of your presentation.
2) A very detailed outline that you will bring in for writing conference on Monday or Tuesday.
3) The actual presentation. This could be a Powerpoint presentation or another type of slide show that incorporates your written content. Or you could make a poster or sculpture. You can discuss your ideas with me when we meet.
The presentations should be creative, but MUST include research from 3 legitimate sources (and not Wikipedia).
You must incorporate the text into your presentation.
You must also use visual images--sculpture, painting, drawing, photos, etc. You may also include music, so long as it does not get in the way.

PATRICK HENRY
Influential in the American Revolution
Famous "Give me liberty or give me death" speech
Led militia against Lord Dunmore defending gunpowder
Protested British tyranny
He felt that a king who vetoed every law that the local rep made was not a king but rather a tyrant
Felt very strongly for the right for citizens to bear arms
I will most likely do a power point presentation beginning with a few pictures and for the first slide, i will talk about how/when it is right to rise up against a greater power...then i will move onto discussing how far one would typically be needed to be pushed in order to revolt. Finally i will continue on to support my ideas with the revolutionary leader, Paul Revere. Paul Revere was a brave man who is most famous for his line, "The British are coming, The British are coming!"
Although he seems very insignificant to most people this man is certainly considered a revolutionary leader because he did risk his life when he was warning the country side that the British were coming. If he had been caught, it is very likely that he would have been killed. If he had not warned the countryside, what would have happened??? Would we have lost the revolution? We can only speculate what would have happened if this revolutionary leader did not do what he did; he risked his life for his country, rebelling against a higher power, fighting for what he believed was right. Paul Revere may not have taken part in hand-hand combat, but it is he who risked his life to help prepare those who would in turn, too, be risking their lives on the battlefield.
Thomas Paine - an American revolutionist, who wrote several books regarding the need to break away from England. His thoughts and ideas are also considered to be the beginnings of the Declaration of Independence and the US constitution. Paine risked everything he had including his life in order to come out with his book and express his strong dislikes towards England and how necessary he thought it was to declare independence.
Martin Luther King
Lead the movement to create equal rights for black people and to end discrimination using non-violent marches and other peaceful movements. Risked his life for what he believed in and for the rights of others.
George Washington, although not as good as Hitler, was a great revolutionary for what would later become the United States of America. He won the Battle of Bunker Hill and later went on to become americas first president. he was strongly against what was at the time viewed as a British tyranny and even in the face of what he believed to be sure death, stood his ground for what he believed was right.
Muhammad Ali(cassius clay)
Ali was a ledgend for what he did inside the ring and also what he did outside the ring. Ali strongly believed in his religion. Even though Ali was drafted for the vietnam war he refused to go because of his religion. The islamic religion did not allow any fighting. Ali's boxing titles were stripped and his boxing liscense was taken away. After a long court battle Ali's punishment was switched to a 10,000 dollar fine and 5 years in jail. Ali is a hero because he stayed loyal to his religion.
I will do most of this presentation by powerpoint. I will do a quick summary on his life and then present his revolutionary acts in detail
Bob Dylan
He wrote songs that were agents the Vietnam war and anthems of the civil rights movement.
Dylan protested the Vietnam war by writhing these song and made these songs help the civil rights movement.
i will make a CD of all of the songs.
